Statistics: Loss-making cos’ share in Russia rises to 33.2% in Jan–Aug
MOSCOW, Oct 27 (PRIME) -- The share of Russia’s loss-making companies rose by 3.2 percentage points on the year to 33.2% in January–August, the Federal State Statistic Service said in a statement on Tuesday.
In the month, 37,200 Russian companies received a combined profit of 10.139 trillion rubles, while 18,500 firms received a combined loss of 3.636 trillion rubles.
The share of companies running at a loss in the mineral resource development rose to 39.3% from 32%; in the processing industry it increased to 29.6% from 26.9%; and in the construction industry it fell to 28.2% from 28.5%.
The share of loss-making firms in wholesale and retail trade and repair of vehicles and motorcycles grew to 23.2% from 22.8%. In agriculture, hunting and fishing it fell to 20% from 20.7%. In the real estate and property sector, the share went up to 35.2% from 31.4%, the service said.
